We have reported the all-new 5th-generation Audi A4 (B9) a couple weeks ago, however information inside that report is for the European market only. Today some news regarding the corresponding US market models emerged.
The B9 Audi A4 will start as the 2017 model in US, initially with two powertrain options:
– 2.0 TFSI gas engine with 252 hp and 273 lb-ft torque, 7-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission and Quattro AWD;
– 2.0 TDI diesel engine: 190 hp and 295 lb-ft torque, 7-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission and Quattro AWD;
The above two options are the only choices during the US initial launch in next March. However later that year, front-wheel-drive and also 6-speed manual transmission will also be offered.
For people who want more power, the B9 S4 is also coming. Audi makes enhancements to the current 3.0L TFSI supercharged V6 engine, the output is said to reach around 350hp. This will make the new S4 to be capable to compete with the upcoming BMW 340i.
