CPO are usually from off-lease cars. Whether it worth purchasing depends on the specific brand you are buying.
For example BMW, it usually provides relatively high residual value for leasing, which causes high CPO price compared to leasing a new BMW. In this case, it is better to purchase a new BMW.
However some other brands have low RV for leasing, which makes buying a CPO more reasonable.
Generally speaking, during the recent years due to booming new car market, many auto makers offer big incentives and attractive financing/leasing programs, it is better to simply buy a new car instead of considering a pre-owned.
