Hercules with Heavy Discount: 2016 Lexus RC-F and GS-F

SHARE

If you want a luxury car, with naturally aspirated V8 with 450+ hp, at this moment you only have two choices: the Lexus RC-F and GS-F. Powered by a 5.0L NA V8, maximum output of 467 hp and 389 lb-ft, it is the only game in town to let you experience luxury ride, linear throttle response and insanely powerful thrust at the same time.

The good news is: now it also happens to be the best time to grab them, because Lexus is offering big cash incentives on these two cars:

Cash Incentives for 2016 Lexus RC-F

  • $5,000 for purchase transaction (Exp: 08/01/2016)
  • $5,000 for lease contract (Exp: 09/06/2016)

Cash Incentives for 2016 Lexus GS-F

  • $5,000 for purchase transaction (Exp: 08/01/2016)
  • $8,000 for lease contract! (Exp: 09/06/2016)

On top of the manufacturer rebate, dealerships are also willing to offer more discounts to clear up their inventories (and prepare for the 2017 model).

Some of our readers have reported that, including the factory rebate, they are able to get a total of 18% off MSRP for the 2016 RC-F, and also the 2016 GS-F.

If you are leasing, you can aim for 20% off MSRP for the GS-F. The lease term is not as good as the retail route though, for the 36-month, 10k miles/yr contract:

  • RC-F: residual value = 51%, money factor = 0.00110
  • GS-F: residual value = 54%, money factor = 0.00110

Using our lease calculator, below are your payments (Lexus lease acquisition fee is $700, assume 8% state tax).

A moderately equipped 2016 RC-F carries a MSRP of $75,584 (includes major options like: moonroof – $1,100, navigation w/Mark Levinson audio – $2,610, leather seats – $800, 19-inch wheels – $1,500, LED lights – $1,160, premium package – $3,240, dynamic cruise control – $500 etc.), assume you can get 18% off, here is your payment:

2016_Lexus_RCF_Lease_CalculateThe 2016 GS-F is already packed with a lot of standard features, the only major options you may want to pick is the Mark Levinson audio ($1,380) and small stuffs like the illuminated door sills, orange brake calipers etc, they usually bring the final MSRP to be around $87,740. Assume you can get 20% off, here is your payment:

Remember, our lease deal standard is:

  • Monthly payment > 1% of MSRP: only take this deal when you really like that car;
  • Monthly payment ~ 1% of MSRP: a deal which is lukewarm;
  • Monthly payment ~0.9% of MSRP: a good deal worth your money;
  • Monthly payment ~0.8% of MSRP: I will take the deal in a heartbeat;
  • Monthly payment ≤ 0.7x% of MSRP: go to sign the contract now!

For RC-F, the monthly payment of $822 is 1.08% of the vehicle’s MSRP, not a good deal. However, the GS-F monthly lease payment of $824, is around 0.94% of the MSRP, so it is not a bad choice though, given the scarcity of this V8 sedan on the road.
